Update: Three suspects arrested over gruesome murder of Abuja chef, Emeka Eloagu


Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of popular Nigerian chef, Chukwuemeka Vincent Eloagu popularly known as Chef Emeka.

It would be recalled that the Emeka, who was popular for his exceptional culinary skills, was found dead in his Katampe apartment on Sunday, August 1, 2021. 

Spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, DSP Josephine Adeh, who confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday, October 12, said that Chef Emeka was 'gruesomely' murdered by the suspects. 

"The FCT Police Command commenced discreet investigations into the murder of Chef Emeka to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of the victim," Adeh stated.

"The investigations by the police team led to the arrest of the three (3) male suspects, Kingsley Obinna, 24 years, Musa Tanimu, 25 years and Mohammed Sha’aba, 26 years, for their complicity in the crime

Adeh said that "investigations by the homicide section of the Command Criminal Investigations Department (CID) clearly revealed how the suspects gruesomely murdered the victim in cold blood

"The CP, while condoling with the family and friends of the deceased, assured that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of the investigations

EFCC releases Obi Cubana after three nights in custody

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has finally released businessman Obi Cubana.  He was arrested and taken to the headquarters of the anti-graft agency, Jabi, Abuja, on Monday, November 1, following allegations of money laundering and tax fr*ud. He was, however, released on Thursday evening, November 4, after he had spent three days in detention undergoing interrogations.
