Woman and her four children rescued from suspected kidnappers in Imo



A woman and her four children have been rescued from their abductors in Imo state.

The four victims identified as Chinenye Odika 'F' age 27 years,  Chika Mark 'F' age 9 years, Chisom Mark 'F' age 14 years and Princess Odika ' F' age 6 months, all of Human Race Estate Naze , Owerri North LGA of Imo State, were kidnapped by unknown gunmen in their Estate on August 19. 

The matter was immediately reported to the police by the husband and father of the victims, Obinna Odika.  The Imo State command's Control Room immediately disseminated the report to all the police formations and tactical units for prompt interception and arrest of the kidnappers. 

The spokesperson of the state police command, CSP Michale Abattam, who confirmed the incident, said the efforts of the police paid off as an investigation into the incident was ongoing.

''On the same day at about 2230 hours, luck ran against the kidnappers, when the ever active Ngor Okpala police Division Patrol Team on receipt of the report intensified it's patrols and in the process intercepted and arrested three members of the kidnapping gang namely; Udochukwu Edmund 'M' age 38 years of Umuezu Onitsha Ezinihitte in Mbaise LGA of Imo State, Uba Edmund 'M' age 45 years of same address,  John Okoroafor ' M ' age 33 years of Amucha Isu Njaba LGA of Imo State, and handed them over to the Command's Anti-kidnapping unit for diligent investigation. 

On interrogation the suspects confessed to the crime and led the Tactical teams to their hideout in a forest in Ngor Okpala LGA of Imo State.

On sighting the police, they fired at them and the police retaliated.

In the gun duel, one of the kidnappers was neutralised while two other were arrested with bullet injuries. On searching their hideout, one pump action gun, three locally made Pistols,  fourteen rounds of live cartridges and three hundred and sixty-one thousand naira (#361,000.00) suspected to be part of the ransom money collected were recovered.

Also recovered are one sea blue coloured Sienna vehicle with registration number IMO STATE,  WER 969 ZE.

Nigerians help me, my friend duped me – Actor Mr Portable cries out

Popular Nollywood Yoruba actor and producer, Olu Olowogemo Arijan also known as Mr Portable, has called on Nigerians to come to his aid after his friend duped him of his money. According to the actor, he was asked by the friend who is based outside of the country to sell his only car so he can get him another one from abroad. Corps member slumps and dies in rivers state

A corps member, Atiye Florence Aduke reportedly slumped and died following an incident which occurred in her apartment at Abua Odual LGA in Rivers state where she was serving. . The member of 2019 Batch C, Stream 2 of the youth program who slumped and hit her head against a wall in her house on Wednesday May 27, died on Saturday May 30 after being rushed to the hospital. . Friends and loved ones of the deceased have taken to social media to pen down tributes to her.  Atiye Olawale wrote “Painfull exit, Atiye Florence Aduke u told me that I should come and visit you once u come back from Port Harcourt to Lagos of which i make move, before getting there, u call me on my way that “Bros Wale” don’t bother yourself ‘I will be fine’ but greet our mother for me till I come back from my journey.
