US Secretary of state have virtual meeting with buhari over security and economy

The United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken will be having a virtual meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday April 27, as confirmed in a statement released by the US State Department on Monday April 26. 

The duo will be talking about security and economic issues in Blinken’s first virtual trip to Africa. 

Blinken will also meet with Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama to “reiterate the value of bilateral relationship and discuss issues of shared importance.”

The statement read; "Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will embark tomorrow, April 27, on his first virtual trip to Africa, where he will visit Kenya and Nigeria and engage with young people from across the continent.

Secretary Blinken will begin his virtual travel to Africa meeting with Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) alumni. In a “Ten Questions with Tony” event, YALI alumni will have an opportunity to engage with the Secretary on a range of topics, including the role of youth in the future of Africa, economic development, democracy and good governance, climate change, and health. Through YALI, the United States works with public, private sector, and civil society partners across the continent to develop initiatives and economic opportunities to support the creativity, innovativeness, and energy of Africa’s youth.

Secretary Blinken will then travel virtually to Nigeria, where he will underscore our shared goals of strengthening democratic governance, building lasting security, and promoting economic ties and diversification.  People-to-people connections, underpinned by the dynamic Nigerian diaspora in the United States, amplify and strengthen our relationship.  During his visit, Secretary Blinken will meet with President Buhari and Foreign Minister Onyeama to reiterate the value of our bilateral relationship and discuss issues of shared importance. Secretary Blinken will also participate in a health partnership event to underscore our collaboration to combat the pandemic as well as long-term U.S. investments in combatting infectious diseases."

NBA Youngboy now a father of 7 at age 21 after welcoming child with Yaya Mayweather

Emir of rano is sick but not related to Coronavirus- officials

Officials of the Rano Emirate Council in Kano State has confirmed that the Emir of Rano, Dr Tafida Abubakar Ila II, is sick but not related to covid-19. This was coming as reports making rounds in the state says the Emir is hospitalized over suspected case of covid-19. The officials on the Emirates official twitter handle said the Emir is fast recuperating on his sickbed. According to the tweet, “we are informing the general public that there is a report going round on social media on the sickness of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Rano. “No doubt that His Royal Highness is sick but glory be to Allah.
