EFCC arrest mother and son for alleged N50m internet fraud



Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, have arrested a 28-year-old man, Ibeh Theophilus Uche and his mother for their alleged involvement in computer-related fraud to the tune of about N50million. 
 
Uche, the runs 10 Kobo Wine Place, Ikotun, Lagos, was arrested recently in his room in Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, following credible intelligence reports about his alleged criminal activities.
 
During interrogation, Uche, who presents himself variously as Rachael Armstrong , Keanu Reeves, Rebekah Schwarzenberger, Keanu Private, Elizabeth Hortman and Stefan Paulson, confessed to being into Bitcoin investment scam, romance scam and identity theft.
 
The suspect also confessed to have defrauded his victims to the tune of about N50m, since he started the criminal activities in 2020.
 
Investigations revealed that the suspect had been using a First Bank account belonging to his mother, who is one of his accomplices, to launder the proceeds of his alleged criminal activities.
 
Items recovered from the suspect are one iPhone 11 Pro Max; one iPhone 12 pro max; two MacBook Pro laptops; a PlayStation 5; an iPad and a small Nokia touch phone.
 
Others are a Mercedes Benz S550 2015 Sedan car and a Lexus RX 350 SUV 2016, among other incriminating items.
 
The suspects will be charged to court soon.

NBA Youngboy now a father of 7 at age 21 after welcoming child with Yaya Mayweather

39-yr-old man caught defiling a mentally-challenged minor under a tree

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has arrested a 39-year-old man, Segun Oni, for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in Igbaja area of the state. The command’s spokesperson, Babawale Afolabi, in a statement said the suspect was arrested on Monday, June 14, 2021, after the victim’s grandfather reportedly caught the suspect in the act under a mango tree. Afolabi stated that after a thorough investigation, it was discovered that the victim was suffering from congenital mental deficiency “which has impaired her communication and social skills. Literarily, she hardly talks to people.” The statement said a medical report obtained from a hospital in Ijagbo town showed penetration and bruises in the victim’s private area. The suspect confessed that on several occasions he lured the young girl with gifts to isolated areas to take advantage of her, Afolabi added.
