Osun police identify one of the DSS operatives allegedly involved in killing of policeman

One of the Department of State Services operatives who is allegedly involved in the killing of a policeman in Osun state, has been identified by the state police command. 

The DSS operative was identified as David Olowoporoku and it was alleged that he carried out the attack on the policeman Rauf Fawale, alongside two other operatives. 

Osun police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola told newsmen that the DSS leadership had informed the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Wale Olokode of ongoing disciplinary action against those complicit in the matter.

Opalola said “We heard that the deceased was beaten by three personnel of the DSS. He was beaten by one David Olowoporoku and two others. The names of others have not been ascertained.

“They beat him to a coma and he was rushed to hospital and after that, someone informed his DPO. He sustained an injury on the head. The doctors tried to save his life, but he eventually died. Before he gave up the ghost, he could not talk again.

“The CP, Olawale Olokode, met with the Director of DSS and he promised to produce the three suspects. He even said those involved are facing disciplinary actions already. The CP insisted that those involved should be brought to us since the matter involved a policeman for discreet investigation and prosecution.”

EFCC releases Obi Cubana after three nights in custody

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has finally released businessman Obi Cubana.  He was arrested and taken to the headquarters of the anti-graft agency, Jabi, Abuja, on Monday, November 1, following allegations of money laundering and tax fr*ud. He was, however, released on Thursday evening, November 4, after he had spent three days in detention undergoing interrogations. According to the spokesman of the commission, Wilson Uwujaren, who confirmed the release to reporters on Thursday night, Cubana was allowed to go after the crack detectives of the commission completed their questioning.
