After waiting 18yrs for a child, Nigerian woman dies 3 days after birthing a set of twins

A Nigerian woman who got married in 2002 but could not conceive for 18 years, has died, just three days after welcoming a set of twins.

Mrs Chika Anthonia Voghor, welcomed a boy and a girl via a caesarean section on Monday, June 22, 2020 but sadly passed away three days after, due to internal bleeding.

The deceased’s sister, Mrs. Nwamuruamu Akachukwu Scholastica, who spoke with Nigerian Tribune said, “She gave birth on Monday. On Tuesday, she was happy rejoicing, and full of life. In fact, the news was an exciting one to everyone that knew her.”

Unfortunately, she became pale that Tuesday evening, and a doctor who was called confirmed she had internal bleeding. She was subsequently rushed to the hospital where she later died.

“She died at exactly 5:30a.m in my presence. I couldn’t even look at the children. I was devastated,” Akachukwu added.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) Maiduguri Zonal Command, has arrested a 28-year-old Islamic teacher over alleged sexual exploitation of a 16-year-old student. A statement issued by the agency on Thursday, August 5, said the suspect, Yanga Abdullahi of Maura ward, is a teacher at Darul-Arqam Islamiyya school, Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. "The suspect sexually exploited a 16-year-old girl of Mairi Kuwait area, Maiduguri, Borno State. She is a student of the suspect at Darul-Arqam Islamiyya school Maiduguri." the statement read.
