Schools, Churches and mosques will not be reopened by june 8th - FG says

The Federal Government have debunked the rumor that schools, churches and mosques will be reopened come June 8, 2020 after the second phase of the lockdown.

Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman, Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 made this know in a meeting held in Abuja, stating that the news is not from the Government that relevant authorities and bodies concerned should debunk it.

He reiterated the readiness of the Government to reopen major sectors in the country for economic, religious and academic activities to go on smoothly pending on when the Government is satisfied that such decision won't in any way cause any harm to Nigerians.

COVID-19 is real and it has affected countries in the world so Nigerians should be patient with the Government while we work hard to contain the spread of the virus, he added. The second phase of the lockdown started on Monday, 18 May 2020 and will be ending on Monday, 1 June 2020.

Relevant bodies and authorities are advised to adopt the guidelines of COVID-19 during the second phase of the lockdown for a possible reopening of major sectors. Compliance from their end will be a major determinant so they are enjoined to adhere strictly to the directives of the NCDC, which include the compulsory use of facemask, regular washing of hands with soap or the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer and maintaining social and physical distancing.

Corona virus is real, don't contract it and if you do, don't spread it. Constantly practice respiratory hygiene which include coughing or sneezing into a tissue and disposing it off immediately or coughing or sneezing into your elbow.

Tension in Enugu as policeman shoots 27-yr-old Law student to death

There is tension in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State over the death of a 27-yr-old 500 level Law student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Augustine Ugwu, who was allegedly murdered by an officer of Nigeria Police Force at Nsukka.
