Senators donate 50 percent of their salaries to support fight against coronavirus

Nigerian senators on Monday March 30, announced that they will be donating 50 percent of their salaries from March to support the fight against coronavirus in the country. .

In a statement made available to newsmen by the upper legislative chamber's spokesperson Godiya Akwashiki, the senate disclosed that their monthly contribution would continue till the country is declared free of the disease.

Akwashiki stated that the senate is willing and ready to do whatever is required of the Legislature for the effectiveness of all the measures in place now or that may be required in the future to win the fight against coronavirus.

Tension in Enugu as policeman shoots 27-yr-old Law student to death
