Family offers N2m for information about Bauchi governor's brother kidnap

The family of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has offered N2 million for information on the abduction of Alhaji Adamu Duguri, the governor’s elder brother.

Politics Nigeria reports that Duguri was abducted by gunmen in Bauchi at about 7:30pm on Wednesday.

According to the police, four gunmen armed with AK47 rifles whisked Daguri away from a tailor’s shop in Unguwar Jaki area of Bauchi State.

The N2 million reward was offered in a statement in Bauchi on Sunday by Alhaji Adamu Barde, on behalf of the family.

“Following the unfortunate kidnap of our father, brother and uncle, Alh. Adamu Duguri, Wakilin Bauchi, also known as Mai-Gunduman Duguri, on the 25th March, we solicit for information leading to his return.

“We wish to express our appreciation to all and sundry for your prayers and show of love as you stand by us in this trying period. We beseech God to reward you abundantly.

“The family wishes to announce the sum of N2,000,000.00 payable to whoever provides information leading to Adamu Mohammed’s safe return,” Barde said.

Boko Haram throws Maiduguri into darkness again, blows up power tower.

Barely 72 hours after electric power was restored in Maiduguri, Borno State, Boko Haram insurgents on Saturday, March 27, blew up another transmission tower in the city. Premium Times reports that the insurgents planted explosives on each leg of the tower, which they detonated at about 6 a.m. In January, the terrorists struck power installations thrice at a location about 50km from Maiduguri to keep the city in the dark. The power, was however, restored on Wednesday, March 24, after nearly two months of blackout. Emir of rano is sick but not related to Coronavirus- officials

Officials of the Rano Emirate Council in Kano State has confirmed that the Emir of Rano, Dr Tafida Abubakar Ila II, is sick but not related to covid-19.
