How Nigeria can be safe-Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari says his administration’s goal of providing a safe and secure nation with policies and programmes that will bring prosperity to the masses is achievable if all Nigerians put their differences aside and work together in the spirit of cooperation.

Buhari said this yesterday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, during a courtesy visit by the 2019 National Productivity Order of Merit Awardees.

According to him, the task of nation building is an enormous one.

The president, who said citizens must endeavor to become more productive, added that it was only through increased productivity that a big and prosperous economy could be created.

NAPTIP arrests Islamic teacher for sexually exploiting 16 year old student in Maiduguri

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) Maiduguri Zonal Command, has arrested a 28-year-old Islamic teacher over alleged sexual exploitation of a 16-year-old student. A statement issued by the agency on Thursday, August 5, said the suspect, Yanga Abdullahi of Maura ward, is a teacher at Darul-Arqam Islamiyya school, Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. "The suspect sexually exploited a 16-year-old girl of Mairi Kuwait area, Maiduguri, Borno State. She is a student of the suspect at Darul-Arqam Islamiyya school Maiduguri." the statement read.

Pres. Buhari’s poverty alleviation, job creation programmes are the best in Nigerian history — Lai Mohammed

President Muhammadu Buhari’s N75 billion National Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), among other initiatives targeted at creating jobs for the youths and alleviating poverty among women and vulnerable groups remain the best in the history of the country, the federal government has said. The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, stated this in Kaduna at a meeting of the Northern Governors Forum with traditional rulers on the aftermath of the #EndSARS protest. “No government in the history of this country has ever methodically and seriously put in place measures aimed at addressing poverty alleviation and creating jobs for youths like this administration,” he said.
