Persons begging with children risks 10years jail term — Lagos Govt.

Lagos State government on Wednesday, announced the setting up special team saddled with the duty of raiding on daily basis the nooks and crannies of the state of street beggars, miscreants and street hawkers, saying anyone caught using children to beg risked being jailed for 10 years under the Child’s Right Act. The State Commissioner for Youths and Social Development, Mr Segun Dawodu, made this known at a press conference, which took place at the Bagauda Kalto Press Centre, Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, saying the exercise, which would commence in a few days’ time, would be executed in conjunction with the Nigeria Police. 17-yr-old girl arrested for st*bbing her 28-yr-old neighbor to d*ath after they settled their f*ght

A 17-year-old girl, Aisha Kabiru, has been arrested for k*lling one Bahijja Abubakar, 28, in Kumbotso LGA, Kano State. According to the Kano state PPRO, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, Aisha was arrested following a report received on August 19, that the deceased was st*bbed at the back of neck and left in a pool of her blood. Following the report, police operatives stormed the scene and discovered that the suspect had fled. The victim was rushed to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where she was admitted. Unfortunately, on August 20, she d*ed. On that same day, Aisha was arrested at her hideout. She confessed she had a misunderstanding with the deceased and as a result, fighting ensued between them. They however settled, but later on, she took a sharp knife and st*bbed Bahijja at the back of her neck which resulted to her d*ath.

The Adamawa State Police Command have arrested three in connection with the d*eath of an ND2 student, Franca Elisha of the Department of Library Science, Federal Polytechnic, Mubi. It is reported that Franca Elisha, who was impregnated by one of the suspects, Muniru Abubakar, her boyfriend, k*lled her to conceal the illicit affair between the two of them. It was revealed that Muniru Abubakar alongside his two accomplices, Huzaifa Shuaibu and Rabiu Adamu reportedly connived and gruesomely m*rd*red Franca Elisha and b*ried her in a shallow grave, after which they went about their normal academic activities pretending as if nothing happened. The suspect confirmed to have impregnated late Franca asking her to abort the pregnancy upon hearing. A farmer, Stephen John, has revealed he derives so much pleasure in r*ping old women in their farms in Ore, Ondo State. Stephen was arrested by police detectives in the state after he r*ped a lady, Fatima Yahaya, who was sent on an errand by her mother. He reportedly grabbed the victim and dragged her into the bush where he had carnal knowledge of her at about 7 am. Nigerian big boy sentenced to 51 months imprisonment for over $370k fraud in the U.S

A Nigerian National residing in Indianapolis, Ismaila Fafunmi, was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison on Friday, Aug 20: by U.S. District Judge Karen Caldwell, for charges related to a money laundering operation, which laundered the proceeds of romance fr*ud and grant fr*ud schemes targeting senior citizens. According to Court records, Fafunmi was involved in a network that was comprised of several scammers in Nigeria,  in which they preyed on elderly citizens of the United States by impersonating romantic companions eager to make lasting relationships on dating websites or by offering fake federal grants to senior citizens.  .
