Suspected assassins kill man in front of his pregnant wife and children in Edo

Gunmen suspected to be assassins have killed a 40-year-old man identified as Odion Ehiorobo Larry, in Benin City, Edo state    It was gathered that Ehiorobo was shot dead in front of his pregnant wife and children in his house located at Peanut Road along Sapele Road in Benin city about 2am on Thursday, February 18.    According to Standard Gazette crime correspondent, Festus Alenkhe, who visited the area, the gunmen scaled the fence into the compound and gained access into the apartment by forcing the door open. 66-year-old woman attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Ogun dies

A 66-year-old woman, Alhaja Muslimot Morenikeji Salami, who was reportedly attacked by some suspected Fulani herdsmen in Ogun state has died.     It was gathered that Salami was attacked by the assailants while going to her site in the Oru-Awa Road in the Ijebu-North Local Government Area on Monday, January 11, 2021.   Alhaja Salami died on Tuesday, February 16 and was laid to rest the next day, Wednesday, February 17.      According to reports, Salami ran into some herds and attempted to make a quick reverse but was caught by the attackers.   The attackers numbering about eight reportedly emerged from the bush, cut off one of her fingers and shattered her jaw with bullets.   The victim was said to have been taken to a few hospitals including the state-owned Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital but was rejected. The female teenage student who was caught in school with a gun has confessed to being a cultist. 21 year old psychiatric patient kills two fellow patients at midnight then attacks female nurses and police officer

A 21-year-old psychiatric patient has been accused of killing two fellow patients and attacking two female nurses and a police officer at a German hospital.  The man who admitted himself to the psychiatric clinic in the northern town of Lüneburg, near Hamburg, on Thursday, February 18, allegedly attacked two older male patients, aged 54 and 56, on Friday night at 2am and murdered them.  He then attacked the nursing staff and injured two female nurses, aged 42 and 61, and a police officer, Lueneburg police spokesperson Antje Freudenberg said. According to local newspaper Die Lippische Landes-Zeitung, several police officers rushed to the Lüneburg Psychiatric Clinic and when they approached the suspect he allegedly threw objects at them, injuring one officer.  The police said they used pepper spray to subdue and arrest him.  Police say the suspect strangled the 54-year-old man to death while the older patient was rushed to hospital where he died as a result...

Bandits abduct Kaduna Iman on his way to a wedding in Niger state

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted the Chief Imam of Rigachikun Mosque, Kaduna, Sheikh Mohammed Saminu Adam, on his way to attend a wedding ceremony in Niger State.x According to Daily Trust, the Islamic scholar and other travellers were abducted on Thursday evening, February 18,  along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Highway.  It was gathered that the Imam was travelling in a commercial vehicle with other travellers when their vehicle came under attack. The secretary to the Council of Imams and Ulamas, Kaduna State branch, Ustaz Yusuf Al’rigassiyu, who confirmed the incident said the council was informed about the abduction. "Yes, we heard about it because he was our member and we are told that they bandits abducted him along Birnin Gwari area,” he said. Insecurity: I don't visit Abuja for solution, I do my job in kogi - yahaya bello

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi has said that he does not visit Abuja for solutions to insecurity challenges in his state.  Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Thursday February 18, Bello averred that he acts on information he receives from security agencies and does not pay lip service to them.  He said “The Nigeria Police that are in the country today are the same in Kogi State. The Army in the country are the same in Kogi State.
