Papers containing fraud charges filed against Tinubu and Alpha Beta were burnt in Igbosere court — Lawyer

Mr. Tade Ipadeola, the lawyer to former Managing Director of Alpha Beta Consulting firm, Dapo Apara has disclosed that court papers containing fraud charges filed against former governor of Lagos, Bola Tinubu and the tax consultancy firm were reportedly burnt after the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere was set on fire in the wake of the #EndSARS protests.   Speaking to  Punch  on Tuesday October 27, Ipadeola disclosed they will have to file the case afresh at the Ikeja High Court where the case was moved to.    He said;    “Everything in Igbosere High Court got burnt including the registrar’s copy of our application. In fact, the whole building was burnt to ashes. So, we will have to file again. Army denies shooting EndSars protesters at lekki toll gate; says Lagos state government invited its officers to help enforce curfew

The 81 Division of the Nigerian Army (NA) has denied the allegation that soldiers opened fire on #ENDSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Plaza on Tuesday, October 20. In a statement released by the Acting Director Army Public Relations (ADPR), Major Osoba Olaniyi, the Division confirmed the involvement of soldiers in restoring order in Lagos following the imposition of a curfew on the state by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Eid Mawlid: FG declares Thursday as public holiday

The Federal Government has declared Thursday, October 29, as public holiday to celebrate this year’s Eid Mawlid. Eid Mawlid is the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). The Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola announced this in a press statement released by Mohammed Manga, Director (Press & Public Relations). The minister urged Muslims to “imbibe the spirit of love, patience and perseverance which are the virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).” He also urged all Nigerians to use democratic means to tackle some of the issues confronting the country.

INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakub President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday reappointed Professor Mahmood Yakubu as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for another five-year term, according to reports by the Channels Television. Yakubu, a professor of Political History and International Studies, became INEC’s chairman  after the president’s nomination was ratified during an emergency Council of State meeting held on October 21, 2015. His first term tenure will come to an end on 9, November, But with his reappointment,  Yakubu has become the first INEC chairman to have a second term.

A Brazilian prisoner nicknamed 'Lucifer' has been accused of murdering 48 other inmates during his 25 years behind bars.   Marcos Paulo da Silva, a thief-turned-serial killer was first jailed for petty theft at the age of 18 in 1995, before he became a vicious killer. He is known to cut off the heads of his fellow inmates before disembowelling their dead bodies.     In one case, he is said to have murdered five inmates in one go in Serra Azul Jail in Sao Paulo in 2011 in one of his bloodiest attacks to date.   He faces spending the rest of his life after racking up multiple convictions and sentences totalling 217 years. Governor Sanwo-Olu approves full reopening of markets in Lagos

Igbos had no say in Nigeria’s amalgamation - Orji Uzor Kalu
