241 women and children rescued from Boko Haram captivity

241 kidnapped victims from Boko Haram captivity in Mudu village in  Borno  state by Nigerian troops attached to Sector 1 of Operation LAFIYA DOLE. In a statement released by the Defence headquarters, the kidnapped victims comprising 105 women and 136 children were rescued on May 23 during operation. Twelve (12) Boko Haram terrorists were killed during the operation. ”1 x Cobra APC, 1 x Dushka Anti Aircraft Gun, 1 x AK 47 rifle, 1 x FN rifle and 3 x Hand Grenades. Others are 2 x AK 47 magazines, 1 x FN rifle magazine, 78 x rounds of 12.7mm AA ammunition, 25 x rounds of 7.62mm special, 25 x rounds of locally fabricated Ak 47 rifle and a blanket. Buhari came to steal, kill, destroy - fani kayode

A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi  Fani-Kayode , has described the five years of President Muhammadu Buhari as “disastrous.” He disagreed with Special Adviser to Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, whose weekly column argued the President’s emergence, saved the nation from collapse in 2015. Fani-Kayode, on his verified twitter handle, said Buhari’s emergence has plunged the nation into deeper abyss. Responding directly to Adesina’s tweet, the former Minister said: “Not so my friend. The emergence of Buhari in 2015 annihilated  Nigeria  and plunged her into darkness, death and destruction. “He came to steal, kill and destroy and for the last disastrous 5 years that is all he has done.”

NYSC corps member donates 2 bedroom bungalow to a widow

A Corps Member who goes by name Nyah Patrick,  AB/19B/0235  has donated a two bedroom bungalow to a widow, Mrs Blessing Onyekwere at Inyia Community Ibere, Ikwuano LGA of Abia State. Speaking during the commissioning of the project, the donor, Corps Member Nyah Patrick said he decided to embark on the project when late last year he met the widow and her children, who were at the verge of being ejected from where they were living.  Nyah added that on arrival at his host community, his initial plan was to print about 2,000 copies of exercise books as donation to students of his PPA, Ibere Comprehensive Secondary School but later changed his plan after his encounter with the widow. He said he later went round the community to seek for sponsors and funds to gather towards executing the project. NCDC executive director of finance is dead

The acting Executive Director of Finance and Administration of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Ibanga Bassey Etang is dead. The Senior Official of the agency who has been absent from work at the commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt throughout this week and also conspicuously absent during the flag off of the distribution of Coronavirus palliatives by the agency on May 22, died on Wednesday night after a brief but undisclosed illness. TVC reported that the corpse of the deceased was wheeled to the ‘Holding Area’, called ‘COVID-19 Area’ of Braithwaite Memorial Hospital in Port Harcourt. His death is coming just after President Buhari ordered a Forensic Audit of the Commission, and also after the Senate and House of Representatives committees insisted on investigating the activities of the commission. 

Bobrisky arrested by police from Abuja over N30m deal

Bobrisky whose real name is Okuneye Idris, was arrested in the early hours of today by operatives of the Inspector General Police (IG) Monitoring Unit from Abuja over a N30 million deal between himself and a female client. Although the details of the arrest are still sketchy, police sources say the popular crossdresser was picked up while driving in Lekki. The policemen reportedly entered his white Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV)and drove off with him. Confirming his arrest, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, DCP Frank Mba, said a woman petitioned the police accusing Bobrisky of N30 million fraud. Mba says Borbisky has been granted administrative bail. “Yes, Bobrisky was arrested in the early hours of today following a petition by a Nigerian woman that the cross dresser collected N30m from her for sales but did not keep to the end of the deal. Abia state government declares COVID-19 patients wanted after he escaped from holding facility

The Abia State Government has declared a resident wanted after he refused to present himself after testing positive for COVID-19. Mr. Emmanuel Ononiwu reportedly escaped from a holding centre in Aba after testing positive for the deadly virus. Since his escape, he has refused to submit himself for appropriate medical management and isolation. A statement by the Abia State Commissioner of Information, Chief John Okiyi-Kalu on Thursday said that Ononiwu, a resident of Aba, Abia state, escaped from a temporary holding facility in Aba prior to his movement to an isolation centre after being informed of his COVID-19 status. All subsequent appeals made to him through his phone line fell on deaf ears as he insisted that he will not turn himself in and has gone ahead to switch off his line along with that of his spouse who is also required to come in immediately for testing. Okiyi-Kalu stated that the last tracked location of Ononiwu was around Asa Triangle in Aba South LGA.

NDDC headquarters in port hartcourt shut down over COVID-19 scare

The corporate headquarters of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in Port Harcourt has been shut down following a COVID-19 scare. The coronavirus scare was triggered by the death of a member of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of NDDC, Mr. Ibanga Etang who died in the early hours of today May 28 at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), Port Harcourt after a brief illness suspected to be COVID19. An internal memo signed and released for the management by one Silas Anyanwu, directed all employees to vacate the headquarters as it would be shut down for two weeks with immediate effect. “Consequently, all activities of the commission including ongoing matters are hereby shut down” the memo read
